ECC: SEND Local Offer
The Essex Local Offer is a signposting service for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. The website offers information on important topics such as One-Planning, school transport, school attendance difficulties and more. It also has a directory with over 700 services listed including parent and carer support groups and activities and things to do in your local area. This can be filtered by age, support type, area and more.
The Essex Local Offer shares information directly with families and professionals through a monthly newsletter and through social media. This includes information on the Essex Local Offer SEND roadshows. Roadshows take place termly across Essex. Services attend from education, health and social care as well as local support services. These provide a valuable opportunity for families to speak directly with practitioners. The Essex Local Offer also has a peer support service - Supporting Parents and Carers in Essex (SPACE). Parents and carers can request telephone support, attend a webinar or use the free online resources on the SPACE website.
