Community Befriending

We offer both telephone and face-to-face befriending. Our free face-to-face befriending meetings are held outside of the client's home (no home visits). We also arrange group outings to encourage service users to make new friends and reduce their loneliness and isolation We support, in particular, people from black and Asian backgrounds as well as other minority ethnic groups.

Who can use this service?

Anyone aged 16 years and above who lives or works within Harlow and to some extent other parts of the West Essex Quadrant can use the service. The service is free.

How are services delivered?

Service users are from referrals only. Self referrals can be through our volunteers. Our befriending services are tailored to the needs of the service user and family. Our services include supporting individuals and families in various circumstances to meet their needs
