West Essex Inclusion Project

West Essex Inclusion Project provides inclusive sports, leisure and social activities for children and young people aged 0-14 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford. Activities include trampolining, swimming, multisports, sensory experiences, animal encounters and holiday programmes. Personalised support is available to help children participate and enjoy activities. Children must have a valid Essex Short Breaks ID and be registered with the project before booking. Before booking activities, all children must: Hold a valid Essex Short Breaks ID and registered with us.

As a member of The West Essex Inclusion Project you have access to the following term time activities. Please note some have a charge:

    • Monday

      Multisports at New City College, Loughton (5:00pm to 6:00pm)
    • Tuesday

      Trampolining at Great Dunmow Leisure Centre (5:00pm to 6:00pm)
    • Wednesday
      Trampolining at Epping Sports Centre (3:30pm to 4:30pm)

      Trampolining at Urban Limitz, Harlow (6:00pm to 7:00pm)
    • Friday

      Trampolining at Debden Park High School, Loughton (4:30pm and 5:30pm groups)
    • Saturday
      Swimming Lessons with Comfort Aquatics, Harlow

      Family Swim at Ongar Leisure Centre (12:00pm to 1:00pm, first Saturday of each month)
    • Sunday
      Family Swim at Epping Sports Centre (9:30am to 10:30am)

Important Information

Before booking activities, all children must:

  • Hold a valid Essex Short Breaks ID Essex Short Breaks - Essex Short Breaks
  • Be registered with the West Essex Inclusion Project (please contact our Disability Inclusion Officers Emily/Lexi to gain a registration form)

Who can use this service?

 

The West Essex Inclusion Project is for:

  • Children and young people aged 0-14 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:
    • Learning disabilities
    • Autism
    • Physical impairments
    • Sensory impairments
  • Families living in the Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford areas

Eligibility Requirements

Before attending activities, children and young people must:

  • Have a valid Essex Short Breaks ID
  • Be registered with the West Essex Inclusion Project
  • Book activities in advance where required

Support Available

The project provides personalised support through Community Activity Workers and Leaders to help children and young people access activities and participate successfully, according to their individual needs.

 

How are services delivered?

 

  • Activities are delivered through a programme of inclusive sports, leisure and social sessions held at community venues across Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford.
  • Sessions are supported by trained Community Activity Workers and Leaders, who provide personalised support based on each child's individual needs.
  • Activities are offered throughout the year, including term-time sessions, family activities and holiday programmes.
  • Children and young people participate in small-group activities designed to promote inclusion, confidence, independence and social interaction.
  • Families can discuss support requirements with a Disability Inclusion Officer to help identify the most suitable activities for their child.
  • Registration with the West Essex Inclusion Project and a valid Essex Short Breaks ID are required before booking activities.

Every Wednesday (term time) 18.00-19.00pm. Ages 6-14 years. Cost £11 a session.

Every Saturday 2.30-3.15pm. Cost: Adult £3:00 (18+) Child £2:00 (0-18 yrs)
