We offer 12-week, topic-based english classes, which are designed to help refugees, asylum seekers, and migtants build practical language skills that can be unsed in daily life.
Whether you’re new to the UK or have been here for some time, our classes provide the tools and confidence you need to communicate, connect, and thrive.
What You'll Learn
Each class focuses on useful, real-life topics through interactive activities like roleplay, discussion, and group exercises. Topics include:
- Introducing yourself
- Health and visiting the doctor
- Shopping and using money
- Understanding utility bills, finances & managing a household
- Housing and dealing with landlords
- Education and enrolling in school or college
- Employment and volunteering
- Using public transport
- Emergency services – how and when to call for help
- Leisure, hobbies and local activities
- Life in the UK and understanding British culture
- British small talk – everyday conversations and social confidence
Who can use this service?
How are services delivered?
Any adult migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals from diverse ethnic communities interested in improving their speaking and learning English.
Our in-person, drop-in classes are held at St. Paul, Harlow, CM20 1LP. You don't need to book or enroll—just come along and join the session.
